About the Ontario Union of Martial Artists

The Ontario Union of Martial Artists (OUMA) is a registered not-for-profit organization that promotes non-prescriptive and all inclusive martial arts practice.  OUMA strives to protect our shared values in martial arts and the autonomy of practice for cultural, recreational, spiritual and amateur martial artists and their related organizations.

Our Mission

To unite martial artists and their organizations to have a single voice; to educate and advocate for the autonomy of practice, commerce and cultural development of the martial arts.

Our Vision

To develop a recreational, cultural and commercial preservation policy that respects and maintains the integrity of all individual martial arts, welcomes the participation of cultural activities unique to those arts, and to develop a governance policy that ensures the safety of all participants.
